Over the last two months, we had the pleasure of hosting two incredible Chef’s Table events at the Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy, featuring the talented chefs Jun Au and Scott Smith. Both evenings offered unique culinary experiences that celebrated the art of cooking and brought our foodie community together. Here’s a look back at these memorable events!
Scott Smith: An Interactive Culinary Experience
Our inaugural Chef’s Table featured the innovative Scott Smith. Known for his engaging cooking style, Scott provided an evening filled with culinary excitement.
Event Highlights:
• Interactive cooking session: Guests were treated to a unique opportunity to watch Scott create a stunning four-course menu right in front of them, with stories and insights shared throughout.
• Exquisite food: The evening began with three delectable snacks, followed by a carefully curated four-course menu.
• Wine pairings by Miguel Crunia: To add a special touch, Miguel paired each course with five exceptional wines from Fìon, bringing an additional depth to the culinary experience.
The atmosphere was convivial, with guests fully engaged in Scott’s artistic cooking process and enjoying every bite of the delicious dishes presented.
Jun Au: A Culinary Journey into Modern Chinese Cuisine
On March 22nd, we welcomed back Jun Au, Head Chef and owner of Café Pomelo, an alumnus of our Professional Courses, and recent participant on the Great British Menu 2026, for an exclusive Chef’s Table event. As one of Edinburgh’s favourite culinary figures, Jun captivated our guests with his modern Chinese dishes and fun demonstrations.
Event Highlights:
• Live cooking demonstration: Guests were treated to a live cooking show, watching Jun skilfully prepare dishes and sauces while sharing his insights and techniques.
• Delicious six-course dinner: The evening featured the beautifully crafted six-course meal that appeared on Great British Menu, concluding with delightful petit fours that left everyone wanting more.
• Wine pairings: Delicious wine options enhanced the dining experience by Miguel of Fion Wines, perfectly complementing each dish.
Attendees left inspired, having enjoyed not just a meal they had seen on the televisions, but a true demonstration of Jun’s culinary creativity.
