Flavours of Spain

Savour the bold flavours of Spanish cooking with our Flavours of Spain Class. This hands-on day is a celebration of Spain’s culinary traditions, from traditional tapas to comforting regional dishes...

The flavours and scents of Spain fill the kitchen on this delicious Spanish cooking class at Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy.

The day begins with a short, expert demonstration and a run through of the recipes to come. In the morning we will focus on the delicious tapas dishes, which are enjoyed for lunch with a glass of wine (non-alcoholic options available). The flavourful dishes made in the afternoon are all taken home to be enjoyed later, as a feast or with your friends and family.

Recipes covered may include:

Demonstration

  • Tortilla
  • Prawns with Romesco Sauce (Gambas con Salsa Romesco)
  • Fried Padron Peppers (Pimientos de Padron)

Practical

  • Gazpacho
  • Broad Bean, Ham and Quails Egg Salad (Habas con jamón y huevos de codorniz)
  • Meatballs in Spicy Tomato Sauce (Albondigas con Salsa Picante)
  • Empanada (A Galician speciality – yeasted pastry enclosing pork, chorizo and peppers)

Good to know

The recipes made on this course contain the following: EGGS, NUTS, SULPHITES, GLUTEN

This class is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians but cna be adapted to be gluten-free.

Please let us know of any dietary requirements, allergies or special accommodations required at the time of booking. We will be as flexible as possible, when we can, so as to be inclusive to all students but we may not be able to substitute ingredients in the recipes.

We do everything we can to reduce the risk of cross contamination, however we cannot guarantee a completely allergen free environment and therefore our kitchens may be unsuitable for students with severe or life-threatening allergies.

Our one-day workshops and short courses are 16+ unless otherwise specified. Children aged 14 or 15 may attend with an adult over 18.

On the day, the school will be open from 9.30am and the class will begin at 9.45am. The class will be finished by 3.30pm, depending on the course and class size it may finish earlier.
